Strophitus undulatus (Say, 1817)

Distribution: This species occurs throughout the Mississippi River and Great Lakes systems, northern Atlantic Coast drainages, and parts of the Canadian Interior Basin. In Oklahoma, S. undulatus is found in the Poteau, Kiamichi and Little River systems in the southeast and the Illinois River and other scattered locations in northeastern Oklahoma.

Life History and Ecology: This species is a habitat generalist found in a variety of streams, rivers, lakes and ponds. Long-term brooder that is thought to be a host generalist that releases free-living glochidia. Periodic life history strategy.
