Quadrula nobilis (Conrad, 1854)

Synonyms: Tritogonia nobilis

Distribution: The distribution of this species is poorly understood, but it is believed to occur in the Gulf Coast drainages from the Mobile Basin west to the Sant Jacinto River in Texas. Also thought to occur in the Mississippi River drainage as far north as Minnesota and as far east as the lower Ohio River, but this is mostly based on historical shell records. In Oklahoma has been found in the Poteau River and likely occurs in the lower Red River streams.

Life History and Ecology: Riffle areas in medium to large rivers. Short-term brooder that is thought to use channel and flathead catfish as hosts. Equilibrium life history strategy.
