Distribution: This species is known from the Mobile Bay drainage west to eastern Texas, and northward in the Mississippi River system to northwest Tennessee. In Oklahoma, this species occurs in the Glover and Little Rivers.

Life History and Ecology: Mainly occurs in lowland rivers in soft mud or sand substrates. Fish hosts are currently undetermined. Equilibrium life history strategy.
