Distribution: Endemic to streams of the Ozark and Ouachita mountain ranges of the interior highlands west of the Mississippi River. In Oklahoma, it occurred historically in the Verdigris and Spring rivers but has not been recorded in recent decades and is likely extirpated.

Life History and Ecology: Typically occurs in stable river channels. Has a demersal conglutinate. Logperch are a suitable host species. Equilibrium life history strategy.
